Moving Forward Together

Year 4 - Summer Term 2008

Welcome back to the summer terms.  I hope you all had a restful break.  In Literacy throughout this term, we will be reading some stories that deal with issues and dilemmas, persuasive writing, poetry and stories from other cultures.  In Science, we will be studying friction and looking at different habitats when we will use our own nature area.  In History we will see how Tewkesbury has changed over the years.  Hopefully this will involve a history walk around town where parental support will be needed.

We will have two PE lessons every week now as we are no longer swimming.  The correct kit, including trainers or pumps will be needed in school at all times, as we will be going outside – weather permitting!  We will be playing striking and fielding games, doing outdoor and adventurous activities, and later in the term doing athletic activities.  Can I also ask that if your child has long hair, it is tied back, particularly on PE days (Tuesdays and Fridays) and that earrings are removed.  Thank you for your co-operation.  I look forward to a happy and exciting summer term in Y4 and if you have any problems or queries, please do not hesitate to come in and see me.
