Year 3 - Summer Term 2008
In Literacy this term, year 3 will be writing adventure stories as well as finding out about authors and letters and information texts. The children will particularly be learning how to plan and re-draft their writing. Our History work is about the Ancient Egyptians which is already proving to be a popular topic with the class. We will also find out about the weather in Geography after the half term break. Our Science themes will include Rocks and Soils before the half term break and Magnets and Springs after. In Art we are looking at patterns and will be making and using prints and stencils. Each child needs a painting apron in school. We will now have two PE sessions each week as we no longer go swimming this term. The children will need their kits in on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we will be making use of the field. As the weather is becoming warmer and the sun stronger, children will now need to have a water bottle in school and a sunhat for break times and PE sessions. If you would like your child to wear sunscreen, please apply it before coming to school.
