The Friends of Mitton Manor primary School are celebrating the schools 40th Birthday with a school re-union for all pupils past and present on 6th October 2007 12pm-5pm. Please come along and meet your old teachers and friends, look around the school and join us for a drink and pig roast.

The floods were horrendous! I was evacuated from my house
because it was under water. We got rescued by two boats ~ one of them was the rspca because we have 3 dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there! Wow, I'm impressed by this web site you've got here, and I like what you've done with the place, I especially like the mural! To all the kids learning musical instruments I say well done and keep it up... I'll always remember my time here from 1988(?) to 1994 for the treachers I had who taught me to read and to write, add, subtract and divide. Hello everyone, I attended Mitton Manor from 1973 to 1979 and I lived in Grayston Close. During my time there, we had two headmasters, Mr. Griffiths and Mr. Carley. My teachers included, Mrs. Tootel, Mrs. Horton, Mrs. Brown and Mr. Jeffries, Miss Potton and finally, Miss Davis. Even after all these years I still think about them sometimes. Now I live in Japan but my happiest days were the ones I spent at Mitton Manor. I hope the children attending now get as much enjoyment from their time there as I did!

I noticed on your web site that a lady called Alison Sayers asked if anyone was at school in the late 60's or70's remembered burying a box of photos etc.

I was at the school during the early 70's and clearly remember burying a box with all our names etc and would also be very interested to know if it has been found.

Incidently, I left Tewkesbury 20 years ago and now live in London but some of my fondest memories are from my school days at Mitton Manor. Mrs Tootell (?), Mr Greening, Mrs Ghali, Miss and Mr Potter, Miss Davis, to name but a few of the fab teachers.

Great web site, have really enjoyed my trip down memory lane today.

Miss Bayly is very nice.

I like learning about Greece, its great.

I love learning about telling story notes, its great.

It's really fun in year five.

Miss Bayly is understanding and patient.

On Sunday 25th June, the school Wind Band played at the Gloucestershire Promenade Concert at the Cheltenham Town Hall. They were absolutely brilliant and I was so proud of the way they played. The Gloucestershire Echo printed a really good article about the concert saying that 'the Mitton Manor Wind Band received rapturous applause after playing so well'. Thanks go especially to Mike Sallis (brass teacher) and Jenny Henley (woodwind teacher) for their great support. Well done everyone....you were fantastic!!

Hi all - just to let all the Y6 crowd who are about to go up to Tewkesbury School that it is not that scary! I settled in really quickly and have made a lot of new friends. The homework isn't too bad either!

It is the last week at school before half term. I am sad because I will miss all of the teachers.
I want to say to Mr Bevan that his p.e. and sports are really good.
I hope Y6 had a good time in London.

I want to congratulate this year's Y6 for the way that they behaved in London on our extended educational visit last week (18th - 20th May 2005). We had such a wonderful time and it was heart-warming to receive so many positive comments from members of the public and from staff at Baden Powell House and those who work at the places we visited (Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Science Museum). The teachers who ran the visit.....Mrs Kingston, Miss Williams & myself were so delighted.....it was a pleasure to be with the children. By the way, we all enjoyed the Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre so much ~ it was absolutely brilliant!

I want to say helllllllllllooooooooo! to the Y6 in London and hope to see them back at Mitton soon and I want to say hello to Ryan Pope on holiday. I hope Hayes win the house cup before Y6 leave.

I also received many individual presents from staff and parents so again my grateful thanks. I went to this school last year and found that it really gave me a good start to Tewkesbury School

Still thinking of you all, I have just finished my first year at Shiskine Primary School, so I am now on my summer holidays. Having lots and lots of fun and still making lots of friends.

I think Mr Bevan is a great teacher he has helped me alot.

I left Mitton in July 2000 but still have fond memories of the school. One of my best memories was playing rugby for Mitton at the Youth Games at Bath University. Hi to all!

Hi, hope you're all ok. I'm now in year 9 at Tewkesbury School and into jazz,orchestra, junior choir, full choir, music centre, saxophone band - Its great fun! I play saxaphone - just about to do grade 3/4 , flute just about to do grade 2 and I'm just about to have keyboard lessons. Every lunchtime I do music - it's great fun and on Monday 15th December we are performing at the Abbey and Thursday 18th December performing at school. Last month I played in an army band with the school - only certain people were picked it was GREAT FUN!!!!

Well done to all the children who took part in the performances of the Bossy King (FS & KS1) and Scrooge (KS2). You were absolutely fantastic and I was very proud of you all. You are a credit to our wonderful school!

I do still miss you all, but I am having a good time at my new school - Shiskine Primary School, Isle of Arran, where I have made lots of new friends. There are only 8 of us in my class, 2 girls and 6 boys. It is really quite nice when I can come out of school and go to the lovely beach which is just down the road.

CONGRATULATIONS to the school rugby team who won the Cheltenham and District 7 a side Tag Rugby tournament on Friday. All the team played very well and were a credit to everyone at the school. As expected, they showed excellent sportsmanship and good manners at all times. Thank you to Mr Bevan for training and supporting such a talented team.

Hello, I thought Art Week was great. I really like the new trees!! Bye!!!!

I'm one of the governors for the school and would just like to say a big thankyou to the staff and all the children who made my visit to the school today so enjoyable. There was such an vibrant "buzz" around the place and the children I met were a credit to themselves as well as the school.
I hope that opportunities for further visits won't be too long in coming!!!

Mitton Manor School is everything a Country School should be...I'm delighted with it, especially the fact that both Owen and Niall love being there....I think the web-site is great..I'm only sorry that it has taken me this long to discover it.

Mitton Manor was my Primary School 16 years ago, and my mother has worked there as a supply teacher. I have so many memories of School. The Black pole at the end of the field where we used to play often. The common area for Y6! I am now 22 years old and living in Australia, doing Bible college. I often look back at photos and remember one of the happiest periods in my life, I will never forget Mitton Manor. One person I remember the most is the front office clerk, she often attended to our needs if we had hurt ourselves whilst playing.

I left Mitton in 1986 after being at the school for only a few months. I have memories of playing in the playground and preparing for the carnival when I was in the nursery. Now, aged 20 and after living for the last 16 years in Romsey, Hampshire, it is strange to look back at the school which I have many happy memories of.

I have now left Mitton Manor School and are enjoying the experiences of Tewkesbury School. Whilst I was at Mitton I enjoyed the lessons and after school activities,in the last term I realised I'd been at the school 7 years and I was really going to miss it. The time at the school was excellent and I'd lke to say a massive thank-you to all the teachers and headteachers that taught me and guided me through Primary School, you have all done an excellent job!
